Rebecka Sexton is the founder of Resonance Chicago and a SVOUND™ Certified Soundbath Practitioner.

She grew up playing violin and piano and came to yoga through Kripalu, where she began practicing around 2002. Over twenty years of practice led her to sound healing through direct exposure to practitioners in the field. She has also trained in energy healing, studying with Julie Motz, author of Hands of Life, whose work bridges conventional medicine and healing arts, and with Debbie Taitel of Spirit Light Insight, whose practice focuses on the body's energy systems.

The other half of her background is institutional. Before she picked up a mallet professionally, she spent over a decade inside some of the country's largest healthcare organizations — Blue Cross Blue Shield, Optum, Roanoke Memorial Hospital, OSF Healthcare, — working as a service designer and futurist developing knowledge about health and wellness.

Those two paths shape everything about Resonance Chicago. Sessions are grounded in the science of the autonomic nervous system: sustained acoustic input activates the vagus nerve, shifts the body from sympathetic to parasympathetic, and produces measurable changes in heart rate variability. This isn't ceremony. It's physiology.

Rebecka holds an M.D.M. from the IIT Institute of Design and an MFA from the University of Texas at Austin. Her installation art has been shown at the Kohler Art Center and the University of Texas at El Paso, and was recognized with a Rome Prize nomination and two Illinois Arts Council Grants.

Resonance Chicago serves corporate teams, fitness and wellness venues, healthcare organizations, and community groups across Chicagoland. Every session is led by Rebecka personally.
